Frontier Wok Too is a Chinese restaurant tucked into Burbank’s bustling Olive Avenue corridor, offering a reliably fresh and speedy option for diners craving familiar Asian comfort food with some bold, spicy twists. The atmosphere is straightforward and welcoming, leaning into a casual, family-run vibe that makes it feel less like a chain spot and more like a neighborhood staple.

The menu here veers into both classic and slightly adventurous territory, balancing familiar dishes like Sweet and Sour Chicken or Chicken Fried Rice with options that nod more deeply toward regional flavors and fusion, such as Black Pepper Beef Udon and Gobi Manchurian. The hot & sour soup (酸辣湯) is a notable starter, delivering the right balance of heat and tang that locals seem to appreciate. Another dish that stands out is the Goldminer’s Spring Rolls, hinting at a more playful approach to traditional appetizers.

Visitors often come for quick lunches or easy takeout dinners, making it a favored spot for working professionals, small groups, and families who want flavors that hit the mark without a lot of fuss. The restaurant’s efficient service means that food arrives quickly, which is a boon for those grabbing a bite during a busy day. The interior isn’t designed for lingering over hours but rather for enjoying a solid meal in a straightforward setting.

Locals particularly seem to enjoy the generous portions of hearty noodle dishes like the West Noodles (美式炒麵) and the Black Pepper Beef Udon, especially when paired with a cold Thai Tea or a crispy order of chicken wings. The range of soups, from traditional Egg Flower to the more elaborate Sizzling Rice Soup, adds choices for comforting starters or light meals on their own.

Overall, Frontier Wok Too serves best as a dependable, no-nonsense choice in the Burbank dining scene. It appeals to those who appreciate approachable Chinese cuisine with a few thoughtful twists, delivered quickly and without hassle. Lunch hours during the workweek tend to be the liveliest, while evenings offer a calmer, more low-key experience.

Great Chinese food located in Burbank! We've been going here for years and they're really great. Try the beef, chicken or fish dishes with fried rice. Crispy noodles are the best. Try this in Burbank.

One of my favorite Chinese take-out places closed in downtown after 40 years of activity, and I've been looking for a substitute ever since. This might be my new spot! It looks to be family owned by very friendly people. The reason I went was for the aromatic shrimp that I saw on the menu, I tried the hot and soup, the Orange Chicken, the classic Kung Pao Chicken, and the Fried rice with Shrimp. I liked the addition of zucchini to the soup, it's the first time I see that and the soup was not too vinegary, but I would have liked it a bit more white pepper forward. The aromatic shrimp were very nice, the broccoli would have been nice if sautéed with garlic. Overall I think it's a great spot for the flavors and their prices. They also have half portions if you want to try out various dishes. It's another one of those place you might just drive by looking from outside, but you should give it a go!

Had takeout as an employee luncheon, and they got everything spot on. Food was perfectly packed and super delicious. The fried rice is very tasty and had a good texture just how I like it. Chow mein was very tasty as well. We will definitely order from here again.

Update 2/14/24 Valentines day at Frontier Wok Too is always very busy. The owner was there to make sure all the orders were ready to go. The restaurant was full and the food delivery bag were many. Thank you Frontier Wok Too! Update 5/23/23 Frontier Wok Too has been around Burbank for over 15 years. The Orange Chicken is excellent. It is crispy outside and soft inside. It comes with the perfect amount of orange sauce. This is one of the best selling dishes. The Kung Pao Chicken has the perfect amount of spice and sauce that goes well with the peanuts and veggies. Look at the vegetable plate. It is very welcoming. I highly recommend the Sweet and Sour soup. It has been a favorite of mine for over 15 years. I introduce Frontier Wok Too to anyone who comes in to the Burbank area. Everyone says it is delicious and always wants to return. Excellent orange chicken. I highly recommend to hot and sour soup as well with crunchy noodles on top
